Singaporeans have been crossing the Causeway for cheaper groceries for decades. Most head straight to AEON or Tesco in JB. But a 20-minute drive further into Johor, in the hills of Gunung Pulai, there is a family-run halal farm where you can buy vegetables picked the same morning, straight from the people who grew them.

Why Singaporeans Drive to Johor for Fresh Produce
The price difference is real. Fresh vegetables in Johor typically cost 30 to 50 percent less than equivalent produce in Singapore supermarkets. But price is only part of the reason more families are making the trip. The bigger draw is quality and traceability.
When you buy vegetables at a supermarket, you do not know where they were grown, when they were harvested, or what was applied to them. When you buy directly from a farm, you can ask. You can see the soil. Your children can see where food comes from.
That is the difference between a grocery run to JB and a visit to Bani Ibrahim Farms.
What Makes Bani Ibrahim Farms Different
Naturally Grown
Our vegetables are grown on our own land in Gunung Pulai without artificial pesticides. Traditional methods, family-managed. Not a commercial wholesale operation.
Harvested to Order
WhatsApp us before your visit to confirm availability and pre-order. We harvest fresh for your collection day. Not days-old stock sitting in cold storage.
Combined Farm Experience
On the same visit: buy fresh vegetables and see our free-range Boer and Kacang goats up close. A real working farm, not a staged tourist stop.
Fully Halal
Bani Ibrahim Farms is a halal livestock and farming operation. Suitable for Muslim families from Singapore looking for trusted, halal-verified fresh produce and farm experiences.
Gunung Pulai Setting
The farm is in the hills of Gunung Pulai, the same area as the recreational forest and waterfall. Combine your farm visit with a morning hike for a full day out from Singapore.
Family Friendly
Children can interact with the goats, learn where food comes from, and see a working halal farm. Not a staged petting zoo. A real, functioning farm.
Getting Here from Singapore
The farm is in Gunung Pulai, Johor, one of the most scenic areas of the Johor interior, about 40 kilometres north of the Causeway.
| Route | Estimated Time | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Woodlands Causeway (JB Customs) | ~40–50 min | Most common route for Singapore visitors |
| Tuas Second Link (Tuas Customs) | ~50–60 min | Often less congested; slightly longer drive |
How to get our GPS location: WhatsApp us at +60 13-248 1071 when you confirm your visit. We will send you the exact pin location for Waze or Google Maps. Do not rely on searching "Bani Ibrahim Farms" on a map app. WhatsApp first to confirm and get directions.
Plan Your Visit: Step by Step
WhatsApp Us First
Message +60132481071 to confirm availability and let us know you're coming. We are a working farm, not a walk-in shop.
Pre-Order Vegetables
Tell us what you need. We confirm what is available, freshly harvested for your visit day. Seasonal, so availability varies.
Plan Your Drive
Cross at Woodlands or Tuas. We will send you the GPS pin via WhatsApp. Factor in border crossing time, especially on weekends.
Visit the Farm
Pick up your fresh vegetables, see the goats, buy goat milk, and let the kids explore. A proper farm visit, not just a handover.
Combine with Gunung Pulai
The Gunung Pulai Recreational Forest is nearby. Many visitors combine the farm with a morning hike or waterfall visit for a full day out.
What You Can Buy and Bring Back to Singapore
Beyond fresh vegetables, a single visit to Bani Ibrahim Farms can cover several items for your kitchen:
Sayur Segar
Seasonal fresh vegetables, naturally grown on our farm. Pre-order via WhatsApp to confirm what is freshly harvested for your visit day.
Live Goats
We also sell live goats for aqiqah, qurban, or livestock. Boer, Kacang, and Biri-Biri breeds available.
Note on bringing food back to Singapore:
Fresh vegetables for personal consumption are generally permitted into Singapore from Malaysia. The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) regulates food imports. Check sfa.gov.sg for the latest guidelines before your visit, as rules can change. Declare items at customs when in doubt. Commercial quantities require an import licence. Most family-sized farm purchases for personal use are not restricted.
Make It a Full Day: Gunung Pulai + Farm Visit
Gunung Pulai is already a known destination for Singaporeans. The Gunung Pulai Recreational Forest has walking trails, a waterfall, and clean air that is difficult to find an hour south of the Causeway. Our farm is in the same area.
A practical itinerary for a Singapore family:
Cross Woodlands Causeway. Aim for early to beat peak traffic. Weekends can add 30 to 60 minutes at the border.
Arrive at Gunung Pulai Recreational Forest. Morning walk, waterfall trail, or a picnic. Cooler and less crowded than later in the day.
Visit Bani Ibrahim Farms. Collect your pre-ordered vegetables, buy fresh goat milk, let the kids see the goats. About 1 to 1.5 hours at the farm.
Lunch in Kulai or Skudai town. Plenty of halal options nearby.
Head back toward the Causeway. Optionally stop at a JB supermarket for other groceries before crossing back.
