Understanding Qurban
Qurban (also written as korban or kurban) is the Islamic act of sacrificing a livestock animal during Eid al-Adha — the Festival of Sacrifice. It commemorates Prophet Ibrahim's (AS) willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail as an act of complete submission to Allah, before Allah replaced the sacrifice with a ram.
Qurban is performed on the 10th, 11th, or 12th of Zulhijjah. It is an act of worship that combines gratitude, generosity, and remembrance — making it one of the most significant ibadah of the Islamic calendar.
The meat is divided into three equal portions: one for your family, one for relatives and friends, and one for the poor and needy. At Bani Ibrahim Farms, we handle the distribution to those in need and document everything for you.

Qurban is performed during Eid al-Adha (10th–12th Zulhijjah) by any eligible Muslim as an act of worship and gratitude to Allah. Aqiqah is performed specifically for a newborn child (or at any later age) to celebrate the birth and is a Sunnah of the Prophet (SAW). Both involve animal slaughter, but they serve different purposes and have different rulings.
Qurban is a highly recommended Sunnah (Sunnah Muakkadah) for every Muslim who is financially able to do so. It is not compulsory (fardhu), but scholars strongly encourage those who are financially capable to perform it. Each adult Muslim who meets the nisab threshold should ideally perform their own qurban.
Eid al-Adha 2027 (1448H) is expected to fall around late May or early June 2027, subject to official moon sighting confirmation by Malaysian religious authorities. We recommend booking your qurban slot at least 1–2 months in advance.
Yes. It is permissible to perform qurban on behalf of a deceased parent or family member as a form of sadaqah jariyah (ongoing charity). The reward is intended for the deceased. Let us know when booking and we will recite the niyyah accordingly.
No, you do not need to be present. We perform the qurban on your behalf with the correct niyyah and send full photo and video documentation the same day. However, you are welcome to attend in person at our farm in Gunung Pulai — please inform us in advance.
